Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

PakGharana (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a property marketplace connecting buyers, tenants, agents, and developers across Pakistan. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information — when you register, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, city, password, and the role you sign up as (buyer/tenant, agent, or developer). Agents can optionally add agency name, WhatsApp number, experience, bio, office address, service areas, specialities, response time, and a profile photo, agency logo, or business card image.
• Inquiry data — when you submit an inquiry on a property or project listing, we collect your name and phone number (required), your message, and — for project inquiries — your email address, if you choose to provide it.
• Saved activity— if you’re signed in, we store your saved properties and saved searches.
• Usage & analytics data — we log the page you visited and your approximate country/city/region (derived from network-level location headers, not GPS). For internal traffic statistics, we generate a one-way, daily-rotating cryptographic hash of your IP address and browser — we do not store your raw IP address. We do not log this for visitors signed in as an admin. Where enabled, Google Analytics collects standard aggregate usage data on public pages — see Section 6.
• Cookies — essential cookies to keep you signed in, and, where enabled, Google Analytics cookies. See Section 6.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To connect you with the specific agent or developer whose listing you inquired about, by passing your name, phone number, and message (and email, if given) to them so they can respond to you.
• To operate your account, including saved properties, saved searches, and — for agents — your public profile.
• To activate paid placement (Prime, Boost, Featured, and similar tiers) once payment is confirmed.
• To respond to questions you send us directly.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the Platform, including detecting spam, fraudulent submissions, and abuse (see Section 5 on bot protection).
• To understand and improve how the site is used.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• With the agent or developer you inquire about — submitting an inquiry on a listing is a request that we forward your name, phone number, and message directly to the agent or developer responsible for that listing, so they can respond to you. This is the core purpose of the inquiry form.
• Public profile and listing information — if you register as an agent or developer, the profile and listing details you choose to publish (name, agency, photo, listings, and similar) are visible to anyone visiting the Platform, since publishing that information publicly is the purpose of the listing.
• Direct contact you initiate— using “Call Agent” or “WhatsApp” opens a direct call or chat between you and the agent/developer through your own phone or WhatsApp — we don’t see or store the content of that call or chat, only that the button was used.
• Service providers who run the Platform for us — Supabase (our database, authentication, and file storage provider), Cloudflare (file storage/CDN via R2, and Turnstile bot-verification on inquiry forms), and Google Analytics (where enabled — see Section 6). These providers only use your data to provide their service to us.
• Where required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PakGharana, our users, or the public.

5. Bot & Spam Protection

Inquiry forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile (a bot-verification check) and automated rate-limiting to reduce spam and fraudulent submissions. This processing is limited to detecting automated abuse and does not profile you for any other purpose.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies required for login sessions to function — these can’t be switched off, as the Platform can’t keep you signed in without them. Where configured, we also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic patterns in aggregate on public pages; this is not active on account, agent dashboard, or admin pages, and — like all our analytics — is not used to identify you personally.

7. Data Retention

We retain inquiry and account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, unless a longer retention period is required by law. We don’t currently offer self-service account deletion in the app itself — deletion is handled manually once you request it (see Section 9).

8. Your Rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for a particular purpose, by emailing us at the address in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. In some cases we may need to retain certain information for legal, security, or record-keeping reasons even after a deletion request.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including relying on our infrastructure providers’ (Supabase, Cloudflare) encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

PakGharana is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of PakGharana after a change means you accept the updated policy.
